  • The free demo saves progress only on your own device. We never see it.

Who we are

Haynes Education ("we," "us") runs hayneseducation.org, an educational website for math and reading for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. This policy explains what information we collect on this website and how we use it.

Information we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect:

  • The parent or guardian's email address
  • Your child's grade level (for example, "2nd grade")
  • Your confirmation that you are a parent or guardian and 18 or older

When you use the free demo at hayneseducation.org/try, your child's progress, stars, badges, and any first name you type in the parent view are saved only in your web browser on your device. This information is not sent to us. You can erase it with the "Clear progress" button in the demo or by clearing your browser data.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the website and keep it secure. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts load. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

How we use information

  • To email you about Haynes Education, such as when early access opens and occasional updates
  • To learn which grade levels families are most interested in, so we know what to build first
  • To answer questions you send us

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the website, such as Netlify, which hosts our site and stores waitlist signups, and an email service when we send updates. They may use it only to provide those services to us. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Children's privacy

This website is for parents and guardians. Only adults 18 or older may join the waitlist. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the demo does not send any of a child's information to us.

If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us using the form below, and we will delete it.

Before our full learning service launches, we will update this policy and ask for a parent's permission before collecting any information about a child, as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe: every email we send will include a way to stop receiving them.
  • See or delete your information: contact us, and we will tell you what we have or delete it.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist information until our service launches and you decide whether to sign up, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

Keeping it safe

Our website uses a secure, encrypted connection (https), and access to waitlist information is limited to us. No method of storing information online is perfectly secure, but we work to protect yours.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will email people on the waitlist.
